Talk about double unders!

Have you ever been able to pat your head and rub your tummy at the same time? I haven’t. The reason I can’t accomplish this small task is probably the same reason I haven’t yet been able to perfect the art of the double unders–jump roping, but with two turns of the rope per one jump of the feet. Something about slowing down the feet while speeding up the wrists is, well, mind-and-body boggling.
So today when my crossfit workout included double unders and I somehow let the words, “I can’t” slip, I was reprimanded with a harsh “We don’t say that here!” Whoops. Guess I better start practicing. This video I found on BBC is inspiring. Maybe if I spend as much time skipping as this guy does, I’ll be whipping that rope’s butt (instead of the other way around)!
